Well done on a fantastic first day back at school.
I wanted to send this quick communication to congratulate everyone on a great start to the school year. It was just so lovely to see everyone this morning and lots of smiling faces.
We know that there were some real challenges faced by some families getting their children to the correct place at the right time but everyone did it and by around 9.30am all the children were in the right places and settled in their classrooms.
I have been backwards and forwards between St Clements Primary and Angel Road Infant School today and can report that the children were all settled into their new spaces and working well with their new teachers.
I am so proud of the way that they have all adapted to the changes and I hope that they have come home this afternoon with positive stories and news to tell. All the adults in school are aware that it takes some children longer than others to adapt to their new routines and we will all go out of our way to make sure that everyone is supported to make this transition happily.
You will soon receive a Year group newsletter with more detailed information and some photographs of the new classrooms so that you are able to see where your children are learning.
Of course there will be things to learn from and adapt as we get used to our new routines. Please do continue to feed any ideas or concerns back to us as we will always listen; you see things from a perspective that we don’t so we welcome all comments.
For example, this morning a parent mentioned about changing areas for PE for the lower KS2 children and we have quickly put in place a system which allows boys and girls to change separately.
Year 5 and Year 6 children:
Please be aware that although parents are not allowed to drive down Ash Grove there may still be some vehicles using the road as residents may need access during the times when the children are using the road. Please remind your child to walk on the side of the road and to be aware.
If you have any questions or problems, please do email the office email@example.com or speak to your child’s teacher.
We are really looking forward to a great term ahead working closely with you all.
