Dear Mums, Dads and Carers,
Plans for next week
We have a busy week planned next week and we are all excited to see Year 3,4 and 5 back next Friday and the following Monday, plus we get to meet our new Year 3 children which will be really lovely. The children who have been accessing the reading workshops in the marquee on the field have really enjoyed being back and having some structure again so hopefully they will be really successful days that will make September just a little easier for the children and their families.
I hope the information that we were able to send you regarding hygiene and social distancing routines that we have in place has made the children feel safe and ready to return to school.
Sadly, we say goodbye to our lovely Year 6 children next Tuesday. The staff and the children have been working hard to put together transition activities and keep sakes so that they feel, as much as possible, that they have had a happy and meaningful ending to their time at Angel Road. The children who are in school have put together two videos from The Jungle Book which will be available soon on the website for you all to enjoy. The staff team are also busy collating a booklet for the children to take home. Please can I take this opportunity to wish all our Year 6 the very best wishes for their future steps; we wish you all much happiness and success.
Year 3, 4 and 5 teachers also wanted a way to say goodbye to their current classes, so they have created videos. They will be up on the website soon, please take a look.
The way that we have had to manage reports has been slightly different this year due to the current situation.
If your child is in Year 6 and in school, they will have brought their report home to you today (Friday). If your child is in Year 6 but not in school, then you would have been given a time slot to come and collect your child’s report from school. Please contact the school office if you need to collect at another time.
Year 3,4 and 5 parents: Your child will bring their report home with them on their transition day which is either next Friday or the following Monday.
If you do not receive your child’s report, please let the office know as soon as possible and we can investigate the situation.
Thank you to the kind messages of support, and in some cases food treats, that we have received from some parents. We are managing our way through a period of great uncertainty and your comments really do mean a lot to us.
I really want to take the opportunity to thank the staff team here at Angel Road Junior. They have pulled together amazingly and their flexibility, teamwork and dedication to the children and families of our school has been great.
